Filibert Tologo
Burkina Faso/CH | Choreography, African contemporary dance
Coming from a traditional African dance background, Filibert Tologo was very soon attracted by contemporary dance. Between 1996 and 2001, he worked in Africa where he was very active. He created his own company, « Yaala », toured with the troupe «Farafina Yelemba », and created his own pieces such as Donsein and Tumadjan. He also received the 1998 prize of the National Week of Culture in Bobo Dioulasso for modern stage art and the second Grand National prize for contemporary dance choreography thanks to Tumadjan, a modernized traditional dance piece In 2002, he moved to Geneva and since then has been very dynamic in Geneva's cultural life as a choreographer, dancer and teacher. Filibert Tologo paticipated to creations of famous choreographers such as Gilles Laubert or Maurice Béjart. He has also regularly collaborated with Foofwa d'Imobilité since 2006. He has created the Filibert Tologo company and developped his own work , blending traditionnal African dance and modern dance in his creations Mater, Kouman (speech), Empreinte and Kellem (2008).
