The office for cultural cooperation artlink is the Swiss centre of competence for arts and culture from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. It documents, collaborates with and supports professional artists from these regions who are artistically active in Switzerland and promotes intercultural cooperation.

As an agency for both documentation and support, artlink works closely with artists, event organisers, publicists and cultural academics and fosters relationships with public and private agencies for culture and integration. The website www.artlink.ch provides information about events, publications, artists, projects and workshops in Switzerland, and a publicly accessible media library documents the work of immigrant artists who work in the fields of music, dance, theatre, literature and the visual arts. Every year, artlink supports almost 100 events and productions using deficit guarantees and project contributions from SüdKulturFonds, which is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. A growing selection of cultural workshops promotes intercultural dialogue; artlink’s own events and co-productions provide impulses and place emphases in Switzerland’s cultural landscape.

The former Institute for Culture and Development, which was founded in 1984 by six relief organisations, was renamed artlink, the office for cultural cooperation, in January 2008.
