I'm currently working on a solo dance entitled OULD in which I deal with a part of my personal history, that of my quest for identity.
Quick Facts:
I am Burkinabe contemporary dancer based in Bobo-Dioulasso. I am a graduate of the three-year multidisciplinary training at Ankata Laboratoire International de Recherche, Création et Production des Arts de la scène (Ankata, Interational Laboratory of Research, Creation and Production of the Performing Arts) run by the choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly. I am currently the artistic director of the dance company "Fereen" and my work moves between indoor and public spaces. I draw inspiration from Burkinabe dance traditions, using contemporary techniques and knowledge gained in theatre to develop and push my own contemporary dance style.
Three relevant works from the last 5 years of artistic practice:
- Performance created by the trio "Ni-bê-kô / Au-delà de" by Kodjo Joseph Adando, Farage Barka and Frank Mugisha (Togo / Burkina-Faso / Rwanda) presented at the marché des halles in Bamako, Mali
- Ould, my first solo show, created between january and june 2022 at the Termitière Choreographer Center in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
- Internship in choreographic compositions at L'échangeur-CDCN in Château-Thierry, France from September to October, 2019
