Je marche sur les traces des Marronnes, a performance led by Ivonne González to invoke the Marronnes*, the forgotten women of history, rooted in resistance and the desire for freedom. Through storytelling, song, music and ritual, the performance revisits the struggles waged from North to South America by powerful, inspiring and revolutionary black women. A performance to bring them to the surface of our skins, to inspire us, so that we don't forget them.
Quick Facts:
Ivonne is a afrocuban lawyer, musician, performer and afro-feminist activist. She is the director of the Noircir association in Geneva.
Ivonne creates and directs participatory performances amongst others with the collective “Black Guiris” on decolonial issues and negritude. These representations are a necessity, an oniric, political, artistic act that must be expressed without spatial limits, where blackness in all its nuances and forms has been postponed for so long. She also created Noircir Wikipédia an online encyclopedia.
