Quick Facts:

Jan Araújo (Brasília, 1995) is a visual artist, writer, curator and translator from Central Brazil, currently based in Southern Chile. His works navigate through different disciplines such as Ecology, Ethnology, Geography, Archaeology and Latin-American philosophies. He has exhibited videos, installations and performances in multiple galleries, cultural centers and museums, such as the National Museum of the Republic (Brasília), Caixa Cultural and deCurators. In the last years he has participated in artistic residencies such as Toda la Teoría del Universo (Bio Bío, Chile), LiquenLab (Patagonia, Chile), Übersetzerhaus Looren (Switzerland), St. Moritz Art Academy (Switzerland) and FIF-Belo Horizonte (Brasil). Throughout the years he's been carrying research and fieldwork in Bolívia, Chile, México and Italy, regarding ancestral arts and technologies, land use, territorial and ontological conflicts, usually working with local agents to spread biocultural knowledge of the territories and regenerate ecosystems through archaeological and environmental memory.
