My name is Linda Maroy Elizabeth. I am Congolese born in Bukavu (DRC) on 25th April 2000. I am an artist poetess, short story writer and playwright.

Aside my art, I am a student in bachelor's degree in the art of mass media and communication at Mount Kenya University.

My creative work is centered on the call of awareness and behavior change.

In September 2020, I wrote and created BECHU, a danced poem piece that was premiered at the French Institute in Bukavu and in the following, was selected and performed at the Ngoma festival in Kisangani.

NOTHING FORCES YOU TO MAKE MY PAIN A SONG is a piece I created in 2022. It is a monologue addressing a practice as widespread as it is silenced within universities and educational circles in the DR Congo: Sexual blackmail by professors demanding sexual favors from their female students in return for good grades.

Between 2021 and 2022, I co-created different short plays, that portray the cases of sexual abuse and harassment within our society. We performed our creations in different provinces of the DRC, including Goma and Bukavu, within the context of workshops organized by the Swiss Cooperation Office SDC.

I am currently working on my upcoming EP of poetry, which will be released soon.

Here is a video of my performance in the poetry evening organized by the Kigali Slam Poetry collective and held at the Goethe Institute Kigali. This memorable event was a celebration of artistic expression, where I had the opportunity to share my verses with an enthusiastic audience. The creative energy and inspiring atmosphere of the evening made this experience truly unforgettable. I am grateful to have been invited to participate in this exceptional event and to have been able to share my passion for poetry with other talented artists.
